PokerStars Rewards changes (introduced in 2024) - FAQ

At the beginning of 2024, we made some changes to PokerStars Rewards to give our players a loyalty program that's better and easier to understand.

Why did you make these changes?

It was simply time for an upgrade and reboot.

We were encouraged by feedback from our players, who had asked for more transparency and value with loyalty rewards.

That's why we've made the program clearer, fairer and more flexible than ever before.

What was the main change?

We switched to a rakeback scheme, allowing players to hit targets they set for themselves, always knowing exactly how much they'll get back for their play.

To give you a program that's simple, fair and generous, we've upgraded to a volume-based system: The more you rake, the more you get.

While we now expect more gameplay to earn a Chest, we've also raised Chest sizes up to 40% for the top level, and we give all rewards out as cash.

This way, you have more flexibility than with ticket rewards because it's entirely up to you now how to spend your rakeback.

Do you still have all the Chest levels, including the Black Level?

Yes, we kept all levels, nothing changed here. We've mainly revised the Reward Points requirement for each level and increased the Chest values.

Why did you change the Chest earning requirements?

The upgraded program rewards play and spend on our site more generously. We believe it's a better fit for most players.

• Those who invest more in rake than others now get back more than before.
  • With rewards ranging from 15% to 40%, we're offering you excellent value. Plus, it's all dropped in Chests filled with cash prizes that you can use any way you like on our site.
• The more casual players don't miss out either. We've got you covered with Power Path, where everybody can play for little money and climb the steps to the biggest live and online events.
  • It's an excellent reward for those who only play occasionally... but aim high. Plus, there's the Daily Reward (where available) for players at the Blue or Bronze Chest Level. Get a free Step 1 ticket each day you play for Real Money on our site.

But that's not all. We've expanded our promotional activities and continue to do so. As part of our regular promotions, we've got exciting rewards lined up for you.

So, don't worry if you don't play enough to directly benefit from our rewards program. You'll have Power Path and many other great offers. Expect great prizes and a lot of fun at the tables.

Why did you discontinue Reward Points credits for Casino gameplay and Sports betting (where available)?

We listened closely to feedback from our players and analyzed big volumes of gameplay data. This is when we noticed an imbalance in the rewards system.

• Poker players had benefitted much more from the rewards program than our Casino and/or Sports players.

In short: We believe we can serve our player base outside Poker (or those not mainly playing Poker on our site) better by additional promotions specific to them.

Last but not least, we'd like to highlight that we did not take away funds from the overall rewards budget. Instead, we've reinvested it to fund new, exciting promotions. After all, we want to give all our users the best deal and player experience.

What is PokerStars Select and PokerStars Select+?

It's a loyalty offer for the top bracket of players, introduced as part of these changes. Select players get access to exclusive offers and daily rakeback.

These are separate schemes on top of the regular program, designed specifically for our most loyal users who are very committed to playing on PokerStars.

If you're a high-volume player eligible for this offer, you'll switch to our dedicated Select program with special return rates, depending on your activity.

You'll be moved automatically if you meet the threshold.

• We'll move players who rake $/€50,000 in a rolling 1-year period to PokerStars Select.
• We'll move players who rake $/€100,000 in a rolling 1-year period to PokerStars Select+.

In short, you'll get a rakeback deal instead of the usual Chest rewards.

Can I apply for PokerStars Select(+), and is there a member limit?

Yes, you can.

Players are either selected automatically, based on their activity, or they can reach out to our designated Select team.

If you're a very committed PokerStars user, playing a lot on our site and generating a considerable amount of rake, you can go ahead and apply at:

There's no limit to the number of players who can join the Select program. But our Select coordinators might ask you for reasons why or evidence showing you think you'll reach the threshold.

What do PokerStars Select(+) players get?

We offer them special rakeback schemes. They'll get back a good portion of the rake they've paid to join our Poker games.

We'll credit these returns directly to their PokerStars accounts as cash daily.

Is it possible to opt out of PokerStars Select(+)?

Yes, it is.

Just contact us, and we'll forward your request to our Select Support team.

In a nutshell: What happens if I join PokerStars Select(+)?

As soon as you get 'selected', you'll no longer see the PokerStars Rewards widget in our software or app, or earn Reward Points. Instead, you can enjoy the special benefits of PokerStars Select.
